Comedy shows

I was thinking (straining my brain) about the old comedy TV shows that would never be repeated now:
Love Thy Neighbour
'til Death do us Part
It Ain't Half Hot Mum
Dave Allen Show
Etc...
Would you admit that you laughed at them or deny it?

I admit I found them funny. Some of the writing was excellent, but, I do feel guilty having done so.
Should I?

Comedy shows do seem rather wishy washy these days. The only thing we seem to laugh at now is sex and swearing.

What think you?

Re: Comedy shows

I enjoyed those shows too, I think it was almost innocent humour in those days

I think many of the comedy shows of years ago are much more amusing than those of today.

Was that the one based in an adult learning class? I loved that!

That does seem the way Tess, I agree.

I heard bits last night of 'comedy' at the Apollo I think it was, and the two comedians I saw both 'effing' away all through their act.

True funny people, to me, like Les Dawson for example, didn't need to continually swear to get laughs.
His funny old rubbery face used to make me laugh even if he never spoke.
Comedy has changed completely.

Re: Comedy shows

It's difficult to find anything to laugh at these days. I find myself watching The Simpsons in desperation!
I'm amazed someone hasn't complained about Homer strangling Bart yet!
