Vouchers

It has been suggested that drug takers on benefits should receive supermarket vouchers, as opposed to money, in order to buy food and essentials. It has also been said that this takes away their rights as a human. Does it really or are we actually trying to help them?

Re: Vouchers

I don't see it as taking away rights - its a good idea
We also need apprenticeships for the youngsters - youth clubs that give them a purpose too ........

Re: Vouchers

I think if you give food vouchers to a drug addict they will find ways of off loading them for money.

Or does that mean that the crime rate will go up, because if they want money for drugs they will get it from somewhere.

I'd rather they sold the vouchers than mug someone - its not the answer that's for sure ........

Yes, they'll always find a way. They are very cunning when feeding their habit. It's just so difficult to get an answer to the problem which seems to be getting worse.

Re: Vouchers

In most cases it might be a good thing, direct the money where the food is, rather than betting shops, pubs and the like.
Druggies will always find ways to fund their habit - I once had one offer me a pair of her pyjamas or some bottles of shampoo, I was waiting for a bus at the time!!

Its so sad - I feel so much for them, its a spiral of nothingness
I detest drug dealers - my wish is to see this blight eradicated - if only ..........

Yes Patsy, it's the drug dealers I dislike. They play on people's habits, whilst living the life of Reilly themselves. I've known them to have young children, the fancy house, the posh car, when all the time they're making their money from selling drugs. And they get away with it.
