If You Found Money

I have a feeling if a person found a wad of dough in the street just by itself with no one around, would pick it up & keep it.

But.....if the same money was found in a wallet, with NO I.D. whatsoever, may return it to a police station or place an ad, asking for a description?

Am I right?

I don't think you can generalise by assuming everyone would do that, many would do the decent thing and hand it in but it's different strokes for different folks

I found a man's wallet on a bench in our local park. I opened it and found an address and took it round there. He was a very elderly man and he was so grateful and offered me a monetary reward but I declined.

I've found money in a purse on 2 occasions, once on a bus and I handed in to the driver and once in the street when I took it to the police station. Fortunately I'm in a position where I don't need to hang on to money that doesn't belong to me.PS I never received a thank-you from anyone.

I think if you turn money in to a police station and it's not claimed after a certain amount of time, you get it.

when I was young I found some notes on the floor of my bank, I handed them in and a month later because no one had come forward and claimed them they were given back to me, I learned from being quite little to always do the right thing and on this occasion it payed off and I felt good about it

Me too especially if it was in a pocketbook or purse regardless of no I.D.

I would just hope it went to the right hands afterwards!

in the UK we've no need to worry as we can be sure it will always be returned to the finder, the police would see to that for sure

Oh dearie me.....i forgot Canada is just full of liars, cheats & thieves. My apologies, if I find a wallet or purse over here I will ship it to the UK so it can be properly & honestly taken care of. Pleeeeeze Honey, I know what you're up to as far as answering my threads, it is to laugh lol lol lol!
