How did you men propose to your beloved? Did you make it as romantic as you could, or did you just blurt it out? Were you confidant you would be accepted?
Or maybe you were the one who was proposed to even?

My husband proposed on a day at the seaside, it was bitterly cold and we couldn't stay still for too long had to keep walking to keep warm, so he did it as we jogged along the sea front the wind meant he had to say it 3 times before I caught what he was saying.

I think if it had gone as he planned it would have been a bit more romantic but wouldn't have kept us laughing every time we remember the day. Sadly after his stroke he never remembered it again

Can't remember either of us proposing, think it was more like a committee meeting

A joint decision ... seems the most sensible way of doing it

It was a long time ago – nearly 52 years now. As far as I can remember we just decided that were now sure that this was what we both wanted.

Mine pursued me, but at the time i was not aware i saw her more as a friend. Eventually the penny dropped and i proposed on the way to visit some friends of ours. Bit out of the blue for me, she readily accepted. Five months from first date to wedding.

The old adage "Marry in haste, repent at leisure" came true in my case.

6 weeks from first meeting we married not needed to repent yet.

It wasn`t that romantic. Jenny was married. I said we can do this three ways.

Leave him and move in with me.


She opted for the latter-25 years married before she passed away
