Lighten up, we're having fun recalling things from childhood and sharing memories ... what's the problem?

Thats the problem with our age group..we all harp on the past...we dont engage with the future. We are the majority these days..the silver pound and all that for gods sake lets take a stance for once and not just accept everything thats thrown at us.

Welcome to the forum.
This thread is called 'What do you remember???' a bit of a clue in the title.
It is supposed to be lighthearted, there are plenty of threads on here that cover the more serious and your incisive input to those will be I am sure of great interest.

Hello Colin welcome.

Some of us here have had more of 'a chunk of life' than others could ever achive in three lifetimes
Your wife is welcome to indulge herself in her 'Zumba' while the rest of follow pastimes which are better suited to our needs and this including discussing things we remember from the past.

Re: Do you remember anything important (split from 'What do you remember' thread).

Oh, I remember important things: Pearl Harbor, Roosevelt dying, the atom bomb, the Cold War, men walking on the moon, color TV, computers...... and I also remember playing in the woods, childhood games, schooldays, and I prefer thinking about them and sharing memories with friends.

Yes, a lot of things are wrong in the world today and some of us are engaged in activities to do what we can, but not necessarily talking about it on a reminisces thread.
