The sales

Theyve started,at 9am this morning there was a rush of customers at Brent x [ not far from here].The media say there will be many bargains to be had ,as retailers have not been able to sell their winter wear , due to the mild weather. So why cant I be bothered to join them ****Anyone got any bargains?

Re: The sales

Don't think I've ever been to the sales in me life, deylon.

Re: The sales

I don't bother with the sales either, I wouldn't like to be in the midst of all the pushing and shoving that goes on.

Re: The sales

Ive not got the energy to traipse out on Boxing Day as to me it is still part of the xmas holiday and one to be spent at home with family/friends.
I detest the way consumerism is pushed in our faces ALL the time on adverts for sales...I just dont buy into it myself but if others like it then go for it each to their own!!

Re: The sales

I popped down to the small retail park after I'd been to Sainsburys, and couldn't find anything I wanted or needed.

Though the carpark was heaving (as was Currys), surprisingly all roads were clear, and buses ran ok.

Glad not to have stayed out as there's a cold wind.

I agree. If I really need something from the sales I'll try to buy it online. But I don't need much these days.

Re: The sales

I don't go to sales. I think unless you are buying something in a sale that you already intended to purchase and it is reduced, they are a waste of time and encourage impulse buying .

I will wait for a sale for a particular item then buy online.

Re: The sales

My daughter went and found some bargains; knowing how savvy she is she probably did next years Christmas shopping. She bought me some beautiful china for Christmas and when I thanked her she told me she bought it last January in the sales. I, on the other hand, prefer to out my feet up.

Re: The sales

I saw this thread, then when I went to look for it again, it vanished!
Why does that happen?
Anyhow, I popped into Cheddar Garden centre today and bought some lovely Xmas ornaments, half price, for next year and a super conifer also half price.
I never buy plants unless reduced.

Re: The sales

Mum got a great bargain...Her tumble dryer went up the creek on Christmas eve. My brother took her off to the shops today and they got a new one reduced from £250 to £140.including delivery.
Shes very happy.
