Taking a Joke

Can your OH take a joke, our Sky Remote Control started playing up a while ago so I took it upon myself last week to buy a new one. Yesterday the missus was sitting on the sofa channel hoping, and my daughter was at the computer hiding the new remote. When the wife selected a channel, I deliberately stood in the eye line between the wife and the daughter, who then selected the next channel up, the wife said Spitty, Sky is playing up again, I had to keep a straight face and say "yep it played up on me last night", after about five times getting the wrong channel, she started to swear, at which point the daughter and me couldn't hold it in any longer, for once the missus saw the funny side.
Anyone else like winding family members up.

Yes we do daft things all the time, and when not doing that we get a laugh out of the more serious things we each do, look for it and there is a laugh in many situations we find.

I couldn't be with someone if they couldn't take a joke. Life's too short not to have a laugh, without having to look at a foosty face

Yep I managed to block the hoover pipe ,while OH went to get something to unblock it,Son and I got it out but did not tell him ,so when he came back with a tent peg we let him keep poking about giving him lots of encouragement, till Son cracked up and he knew we were having him on .

We're to busy laughing at other people - living here if you don't laugh you will be constantly moody ........

Re: Taking a Joke

OH can be a bit unpredictable with practical jokes, just doesn't get them at times, so I have to be a bit careful - otherwise he can get the face on!!
He does have a sense of humour, just not when the joke's on him..

Re: Taking a Joke

I don't much like the idea of making a fool of someone else which is what a practical joke is, and if the person being made a fool of doesn't fall about laughing they are accused of not having a sense of humour.
It's a subtle way of putting another person down, putting them 'in their place' and often a form of revenge for something that is not right with the relationship or a way of gaining the upper hand.
