Remembrance Friday

Good morning everyone

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M720I...eature=related

It is a dry wind free day here with the noon lighting the sky and ghostly shaped clouds drifting by. Apart frojm the birds occaisional song the silence is deafening.

Nothing planned for today, except a minutes silence at 11:00am, as it is clean up day so lunch is at home, Fish Chips and mushy peas. The afternoon will be spent working hard looking for things not to do.

Have a great day everone and spend your minutes silence thinking of all those who helped to make your life better.

For my uncles.

Re: Remembrance Friday

Good Morning Bob and Everyone

Those are lovely Remembrance links, Bob. The last one especially.

Oh I will be thinking of you eating fish and chips and mushy peas!! Lovely grub! Enjoy!!

Hope everyone will have a good day today.

I will be thinking of my lost relative that I never knew as he was killed coming out the war - his ship that he was on was blown up by a one man Japense submarine who deliberately crashed into the side of the ship and blew everyone up, only one man, so I was told, survived!

Thinking of all who fell in all the wars for our Freedom.

Re: Remembrance Friday

Good morning everyone another grey depressing day.

I have a 'Book Party' at my neighbours house shortly which I can't avoid for the uninitiated it involves someone selling children's books for which my neighbour receives commission on purchases.

After lunch I have Friday baby sitting.

Have a pleasant day one and all and stay safe..

Re: Remembrance Friday

Good morning to you all.

Overcast and drizzle here again but I am keeping my spirits up thinking about bangers and mash for lunch..

Thanks for those two very poignant links Bob, today my thoughts are with all who have lost someone close in the cause of a better life for us all...RIP

Have a pleasant day if you can and hey, let's be careful out there....

Re: Remembrance Friday

Today is Veteran's Day in the US. I dedicated 4 years of my life to serving my country in the USAF during the Vietnam War. I would like to remember why we got in that war and Iraq & Afghanistan so that maybe, we don't repeat history and do it again.

Re: Remembrance Friday

Hello everyone

Overcast but dry and mild.

Very moving links, AB, especially the second one.
My thoughts were with those who have lost loved ones and also with a friend who lost her dear son in Afghanistan less than two years ago.

Have a peaceful day...

Re: Remembrance Friday

Hi all, happy Veterans,Remembrance Day to you. Sunny and very windy and chilly, coldest morning since March! A bit after 10:45 A M and only 5℃ (41℉), quite brisk! My C*******s cards came yesterday, all I have in the pipeline coming is new blades for the boxcutter. Trying a new recipe for dinner: Italian meatball soup; sounds good. That's the exciting news from Butterworth Place!

Meg, Mags, how are your colds today? Bob, thanks for your service to our country, even if it was a misbegotten war.

Thank the fallen that we are free countries today ......
