Eric Sykes R.I.P,

Poor old Eric Sykes passed away aged 89, I loved that comic, may he rest in peace.

Re: Eric Sykes R.I.P,

I liked Eric Sykes, his shows had good clean humour and not an 'f' word in sight

I understand during his latter years he was both deaf and blind but still kept on writing comedy material.

Re: Eric Sykes R.I.P,

Another favourite of the good old days gone

I used to love his shows alongside Hattie Jacques, they made a great team!

RIP Eric, thanks for the memories...

I knew he'd been deaf for a long time but didn't realise he had lost his sight as well. RIP Eric and thanks for all the fun.

Re: Eric Sykes R.I.P,

I liked Eric Sykes - my kind of comedian.Sorry to hear he's gone but he had a good run.

Funny thing is that only two days ago I was quoting a sketch that he did to someone at work!

Sykes was standing at a cashpoint, typing in his PIN etcetera.
He was dressed in full Scots dress costume but had a huge pair of wings stuck to his back.

A man behind him says "Going to a Fancy dress party then?"

Sykes, with a big sigh turns to the man and says "Well I don't always wear this!"

"What are you meant to be then?" the man asks.

Another big sigh and Sykes says "Isn't it obvious?!

The Flying Scotsman!"

RIP Eric. stevmk2

Re: Eric Sykes R.I.P,

A good innings for Eric but he will be missed by all of us that likes his gentler style of comedy.

His largely silent film, 'The Plank' with Tommy Cooper and a good few of our British talent is still worth a look today.

Totally obvious and simple but genius.

RIP Eric
Time to meet up with your mates.

I bet Hattie is pleased to see him again! Mind you I can't believe she's been gone 32yrs!
