Hello, I'm married (four children and two adult grandchildren) and live with husband John and five cats & three guinea-pigs.
Vegan 30 years, Buddhist for around the same length of time, but I have little interest in "converting" people to either!

We moved from Bournemouth to Yeovil to set up a modest business residential community in the Somerset countryside, a venture which has rather ground to a halt for the time being - but we had other plans as well, which are progressing OK.

My friend suggested the Forum to me, partly because he thought I'd enjoy making contact with members and partly because I'm helping to spread the word re. "rescue hens"!!
Some of my friends occasionally find places for older hens, not past laying but slowed down in their production, who would otherwise go to slaughter, and we tell everyone and ask them to tell everyone they know.
Hope no-one minds my ulterior-motive aspect of registering ...

I'll be 65 in November, which doesn't seem possible (as long as I avoid mirrors) as I feel about 1/3rd. of that age.

My Interests

Fan of classical music, and singers such as Nelson Eddy & Jeanette MacDonald, and Radio 4 (I'm a "The Archers" fanatic)
Love the Sherlock Holmes stories, and other mysteries - Agatha Christie et al - and very fond of puzzles.
