New edible cups

Anyone heard of 'Biscotti Cups'?

Quote:

A national airline is tackling waste by testing the biscotti cup on customers.

After drinking their brew, Air New Zealand passengers can then eat the vanilla flavoured container, just like a normal biscuit.
The cups are made from wheat flour, sugar, egg, vanilla essence and natural flavour and are also being used in 14 cafes in the country."

Doesn't seem a bad idea to me.

I saw that on a TV program I think. What a good idea. Means you have to buy another one for your next drink though, bet they charge more too.

It is, isn't it Tiff.
But I expect you're right, it's bound to reflect in the price of the coffee if a new cup has to be bought each time.

Re: New edible cups

The thought of drinking tea out of manufactured biscuit cup, makes me want to be sick. Yuk.

I wondered the same, I imagine a soggy biscuit .

Does seem a good idea to save on waste but would be better being reusable for refill then once leaving cafe or plane then eat 'em.

Wonder how many calories in one

Re: New edible cups

Hopefully the airline will still carry a number of china or plastic cups for those that have an intolerance to wheat, eggs, etc.
