Turbulent uesday

Morning all and sundry from Sherwood, where the wind is once again giving our plants and shrubs a real buffeting.

Not much to do today other than cook bacon eggs and fried spuds for lunch, and then maybe we'll take a walk through the woods later if the wind dies down a bit.

Have a good one yourselves and hey, let's be careful out there....

Good Morning Barry and everyone else, the wind has died down a bit but it's still hanging on. I hope this dreaded volcanic ash thing won't spoil anyone's traveling plans, all flights from Dublin to Scotland are cancelled, I hope this doesn't become an annual thing, another headache for those with holiday plans.
Take good care of yourselves.

Forecast was for thick cloud today, in fact it's a clear blue sky with wall to wall sunshine. the temperature is already in the mid 20's c.

The car's at my mechanic's, worn prop shaft joints. although not good, can be sorted, and not as bad as I was expecting.

Fire the mower up soon and make a start on the half acre of grass (and weeds) that is our plot.

Good morning all. I can't think of the poor people in the Midwestern United States this past weekend. Over 100 folks died in Peoria, Illinois as a result of a giant tornado with 190 mph winds. The city was smashed completely including all the businesses and the hospital.

There have been over 1100 tornadoes in the United States this year already. The average for an entire year is 500. It's truly been an awful year for deaths due to natural disasters throughout the world. We're only in May.

Yes Bob, we've been following the story on the news; it is hard to comprehend such awful conditions and our hearts go out to all those affected..

Hi everyone! Glad to hear that apparently no-one had any severe wind damage; that sounds as if it was quite bad. We've had a spate of really awful tornadoes here, especially in the midwest..... terrible losses of life and unbelievable property damage.
Nothing especially new here except mice: Leia caught a second one, and is lurking hopefully in the kitchen. Some sun here, 24 C (75 F); threat of t'storms again; we've been lucky here in the City, missed us!

It is a bad year so far for our American cousins, they have had heavy loss with the tornado's as well as some rather nasty fires. My thoughts are with them all.

We havent done too badly here really, although whatever it does after the excitement of nice weather we moan again. Had a good April, not much rain but yesterday the wind was dreadful, played havoc with large leaved plants and today its been thumping down with rain, ah well thats Summer up here.

Re: Turbulent uesday

Thoughts are with the people of Peoria-been a dreadful year up to now for America...

The gale force winds put my, and neighbour's telephone out of action last night but all been ok today. Scotland has been the worst hit with the high winds, and now airports there are suffering due to volcanic ash, again!

Walking this morning then went into town for few bits and pieces. Late afternoon went with my friend to the Vets to have her 13 year old Pug put to sleep. Very sad, but the 'golden oldie' had had a very good life and old age, unfortunately, had caught up with her.

Sad for your friend, merz; but the little dog had a good long life, well loved, and wouldn't be in any pain. But it's never easy saying goodbye.
