Get the Torches and the Pitchforks (Mini Rant)

I finally met that guy .

I'm currently parked outside local library parking lot, waiting to pick up my daughter. Our town is full of "snowbirds" or retried people who come stay through the winter months.

A older but not-that-old man with northern plates parked next to me just got out of his large pickup truck and unconsciously slammed his door into the side of my wagon, rocking my car and leaving a dent and large mark.

He's healthy as a horse, so that is not an issue and there is no wind or other contributing factors. I don't think he knew I was in my car as I am parked in the shade and my windows have some degree of tint.

Somehow I suspect he has done this before. I'd like run him to the state border and point his way permanently back to Wisconsin.

We exchanged info and I was polite....but....

WHY?

I'd make him personally pay for the damage he'd done .....

In the UK, if you go through the insurance companies, your "no-fault" claim is logged against your record and may affect future premiums, as I found out .....

It's about time spaces in car parks were made wide enough for modern cars.

The loss of a 'no claims bonus' becomes an uninsured loss, and one can sue the guilty party in the small claims court for the restitution of that bonus.

The same protocol applies here too regarding claims and records. Had I been the guy, I would have offered to pay for it privately - too small a claim to risk having your premiums jump.

However, per Nom's brilliant observation , since the sky is blue and the surf is up, I shall quit prissing about my roses and go catch a few waves.

Some people just don't care or even notice what damage they do to others property.
I think there is sometimes jealousy involved if you have a nicer car than theirs. Doesn't apply to me I've only got an 2004 13 year old car.

I did notice that when i had my little Berlingo van, dents and scratches seemed to appear
virtually every two or three days. Maybe people thought it didn't matter as it was a company van but it wasn't i paid good money for it.
