Royal Faberge

Had a fabulous day at an exhibition of his work at Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. So intricate and exquisitely detailed.

Re: Royal Faberge

I haven't got any pictures now, but my Mum used to mimic the Faberge decorated eggs.
She did it for years and sold them at various craft outlets. She used work out he design she wanted to do, then Dad used to cut the empty egg shells with a special little saw. Some would open in two halves, some had little tiny doors in them - all sorts. Then Mum would start the decorating of them.

She did all sorts and sizes of eggs from her tortoise eggs to great big Ostrich eggs and even Emu eggs, which are a dark green colour shell.

What a shame you no longer have any pics Mups. I'm sure we would have loved to have seen those.

Re: Royal Faberge

Have seen some of the originals in the Hermitage museum in what was then called Leningrad, now renamed (again) St:Petersberg.
