Are huge age gaps acceptable

They were just discussing Mick Jagger on telly.

He is 74 now, and supposed to be dating a girl of 22.

How would you feel if it was your daughter at 22 dating a 74 year old man?

How would you feel if your son of 22 was dating a 74 year old woman?

Would you date someone younger than your grandchild?

Re: Are huge age gaps acceptable

All I want for mine is they are happy and to me that includes meeting and marrying someone equal to themselves, that's around same age so they can have a long happy life before they have to bury their partner. But if they chose someone vastly older I'd accept that if they were not being coerced in any way. Power can be a bit off kilter in these marriages I think.

i think having things in common matter too and I can't for life of me think what millionaire mick has in common with 22 year old young lady.

"Would you date someone younger than your grandchild?"

Certainly not.

Can't see there'll be much common ground between an `oldie` and someone far younger where experiences are concerned. What I think about things that only seemed to have happened yesterday are ancient history for twenty-somethings.

I could not go out with someone of an age, that l felt like their mother! I’d feel sick!!

Good luck to those who do but they will always be embarrassed if someone inadvertently refers to them as their son, daughter, dad, mother and even grandparent!

It isnīt for me, but there are very many "mail order" brides who take up with men old enough to be their grandfather, presumably in the hope of a better financial life.

When it comes to the old "super stars", I donīt suppose there is much difference, money and fame always come into it somewhere.

74 and 22 OMG. Maybe she's in it for the status and money , what else would she see in him . As for him he must think he's attractive to the youngsters . I wonder how the 22 year old will feel later in life when she reflects

I think if it suits the people themselves, then it is nothing to do with anybody else.
People seek different things from relationships ( and I am fairly sure what Mick Jagger seeks) , but it is down to that lady if she wants to share that with a wrinkly old man, who can provide the luxuries she requires

I wonder what it was about his millions that first attracted her....
