I know I shouldn't but here we go.

Hi

Here we go, the reality of life.

See that makes no sense to me at all, firemen risk lives to get the piglets out alive then eat them. Just puzzles me why anyone would risk their life like that for something thought of so little.

I know it's farming but didn't they deserve a better life after that trauma ?

Yes I a veggie but I have no problem with anyone eating meat it's just risking lives to do it has me befuddled.

This was discussed on Jeremy Vine's show today.

Bottom line, a pig farm raises pigs for meat. Bacon, ham, hocks, sausages, snouts and trotters etc.

Can't really be upset for making sausages really.

One radio caller said, what if one of the firefighters had died in the blaze? Wouldn't giving them sausages then seem quite insensitive?

Dunno really.

Overall it seems to be just an opportunity for militant veggies to have a whinge.

I understand the realities of farming, but if those sausages were really made from the saved piglets, I couldn't have eaten them knowing they were the ones whose lives I saved.

Me neither. I think the farmer could have come up with a better idea than sausages.

Pigs are bred to be eaten they aren't pets, no big deal.

I do t eat pork any more because of can't bear the thought of the way pigs are treated .
However the firemen saved these piglets form a horrible death and I hope their eventual demise was less so.

Hi

My pigs are all free range from local smallholdings.

I have no issue with that.
