You didn't dream it Doc ... but I'm at a loss to explain it.

There's nothing, not a whiff of it on mainstream news but ....

It seems to be something to do with a video that was uploaded to Youtube on Dec 1st.

Re: Mosque destroyed by Russian bombing in Turkey

Hi

There was a bomb in Istanbul yesterday, but 5 miles away from the mosque.

Putin is too busy at the moment to go around bombing mosques in Turkey.

He is busy wiping out all the Turkmen Militia who, armed and sponsored by Turkey, saw fit to shoot dead one the pilots from the Russian plane which Turkey shot down, as the man parachuted down.

Putin is giving an object lesson to Erdogan as to what will happen if Erdogan decides to play silly idiots again.

My god, it must be fantastic to have this infallible source from world leaders, the military and the world's intelligence agencies.
Daily (or hourly) briefings, Swim ?

I don't know for sure whether the Russkies bombed a bloody mosque or not.
But I do know that there is conflicting data and that one would have to be a dill to be so dogmatic about it either way - unless one were there.

Hi

The information was readily available on the internet, if you were unable to find it, then that is your problem not mine.

It took less than 2 minutes to identify that the bomb in Istanbul was not at a Mosque and the distance from the Mosque to the site of the bomb.

No conflicting data at all, just a simple internet search.

The link that you posted is irrelevant to this thread.

I think that conceivably Muddy has a point, if you had been to Istanbul you would have known that the Mosque concerned is a major tourist attraction and that it is some way from the station which was bombed.

Perhaps you should get out more?

Who knows, a bit of personal experience may alter your viewpoint?

Fact Checking Russia’s Claim that it Didn’t Bomb a Mosque in Syria
On October 1st 2015 reports of Russian airstrikes hitting a mosque in the town of Jisr al-Shughur in Idlib began appearing online.
This included reports from local activists posted on social media, and video footage showing what was claimed to be damage to the Omar bin Al-Khattab mosque, in the north of the town..........

Since Bellingcat contacted local activists a statement has been posted by them on their Facebook page, including the images provided to Bellingcat, and reconfirming the names of the mosques, that only the Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque was bombed, and repeating their allegation it was Russian aircraft that bombed the mosque.

Based on the above analysis it is clear claims made by the Russian Ministry of Defence on October 30th are untrue.
What it is not possible to establish is if this was a result of poor intelligence, or a deliberate act of deception
."

How on earth is that 'irrelevant' ???

For sure, that same article casts doubt on just which mosque, if any, was hit.

A Google search for "Russian bomb mosque"
brings up 9 sites on page 1.
Some saying it was the mosque, some saying it was not and some not referring to this incident at all.
So very clearly there IS "conflicting data" and whilst you may very well be right,
unless you were there you simply cannot be so goddamned dogmatic about it.
