Peter Baldwin has died at his home aged 82 yrs. Derek Wilton a character actor of Coronation street for more than 20yrs Rip+ Peter.

Derek and Mavis used to be one of the highlights of Coronation Street, adding to Corrie's comedy value.

So agree - we stopped watching Corrie when Hilda left - for us the 'characters' had gone and that's what we loved

Can't say I remember him from Coronation Street - but he did seem to pop up in all sorts of programmes. R.I.P. Peter.

I remember Derek and Mavis. Didn´t they leave to take a hotel or something in the Lake District. Rita used to go and stay with them, but they haven´t been mentioned in the programme for years now.

I am sorry to read that Peter has died, I used to enjoy his character.
Haven't watched Corrie in years and years.

For those of you that do not recall Derek just go on you tube and watch him in action on Coronation street they are all on there.
