Hornets !

Last couple of nights at work I have seen a couple of huge (I thought wasps) in the offices. It is one of those hermetically sealed buildings with no opening windows so was a bit puzzled. Went in last night to find my floor had been abandoned early afternoon and extermination was taking place because they found a huge nest in the roof space and apparently lots of hornets had invaded the offices just after lunch!

Never seen wasps or bees about so early so was quite surprised hornets were active.

I`ve not seen a hornet for many years-the last one was the one that stung me in France.

Luckily I do not react badly to stings-but buggar they do itch for a while

I don't think I had ever seen one before hence I thought it was a giant wasp !

We get some big hornets here at times and I once got stung on the leg in Kenya by a huge hornet, it didn´t just leave a red mark where it stung me, it left a hole in my leg. I hate flying things with hot backsides.

Ive only seen Hornets a couple of times, but im not fond of being that close to them. A nestfull would leave me very unhappy.

Seen them regular around the farm , Hornets always look inpressive , but won't not like to get stung by one
