Changing the subject slightly although still on the toy shop theme. I was in another large toy shop last week, not toys r us but one beginning and ending with S. I was looking for a sit on car or bike or something for a rapidly growing little boy. While looking at a small quad bike I was approached by a young sales assistant who asked me the age of the child. I replied "He is 11 months old" She looked at me and asked the amazing question " How old is that?"

Nothing surprises me these days, not a toy shop but a supermarket -have you got any butternut squash ? says I, whaat that then ? says the assistant. A customer over hearing pointed me in the right direction. At the till the cashier peered at my pak choi as if it was alien species and asked was it sprouts ?
