Dust if you must

I only dust if I really need to. This says it all for me

Me too Alice. Its still there in a few days time when you have bothered
to do something.
My neighbour who I like but boy does she spend her time cleaning
the house Everything is in order, no clutter and no dust.
Mine is a cluttered house, I do have bits of dust around and I love
it. I feel that people can come and sit in my house without being
frightened to breathe.
Its not perfect and neither am I

Re: Dust if you must

I dust for a living LOL but home I dust twice or 3 times a week. At most it takes about 10 minutes. So not sure it's so much wasted time really.

Deep clean of course takes longer but that only needs doing every 3 months or so usually as the seasons change.

Re: Dust if you must

I'v a wee auntie who says "what's the point in dusting? The dust just goes up in the air and falls back down again?" My sentiments exactly . I do like to keep my place clean, but I'm not a daily duster.

Oh no one in the industry dusts like that a microfibre cloth slightly dampened picks all the dust up none of it flies through the air. Technique works well here at home too.

Re: Dust if you must

I only dust if I see fingermarks on a dusty surface - if it's even dust then I can live with that for ages. I have a friend who employs a cleaner but always cleans the house before the cleaner is due - how mad is that!!

As Quentin Crisp said, "There is no need to do any housework at all. After the first four years the dirt doesn't get any worse.

Re: Dust if you must

I find that dust adds to the vintage "shabby chic" ambiance I'm trying to create! (well that's my excuse)
