Badger latrines

The local badgers have started a new latrine down our lane and add to it daily

I love Badgers, but being greeted with a new patch of poo every morning is no fun.
I tried covering them over with the hoe and sprinkling disinfectant around in the hope that they would find a new spot for their territorial boundary but it made no difference at all...

Thank goodness it doesn't smell like the foxes poo which Chloe manages to home in on from a mile away

Eughh!! Wouldn't fancy seeing that each day, Meg! Looks a pretty big dollop!!

My sisters' dog loves rolling in horse muck I hope they don't pass any badger poop on their walks.

Look on the bright side though Meg - at least it's down the lane and not in your garden.

Ah well living in the country has to have a downside Meg, it can't be all rolling meadows, sparkling streams, flowers and sunshine, you have to take the good with the bad.
You never see that on TV, how come Miss Marble don't get that in Marymead?

....I know I know and I wouldn't mind the odd pile but there are so many of them now
It must be all the ripe blackberries they are eating...

Would it be any good for your runner beans, Meg?

Re: Badger latrines

They use it I believe to mark territory so covering it or masking the smell will make them do it more !

Meg nature at its best ....we had badger do-dos in the fields and canal paths , they like rooting through Cow Pats as well for worms and beetles .

Be glad you still have badgers and that they haven't all been killed yet

True Abbey, one of the culls is just a short distance from here on the Worcester/Gloucester border...
