It's short for Schmeagol, a character in Lord of the Rings Mags.

That's the forestry park I take them to every morning, it's a great place for the dogs, it's all closed in by fences so there's no fear of them running on the main road.

Lovely to see Smeagsey and Mea - both obviously have a "rerr terr" in "ra water" Looks a lovely place to take them, Nero
