£1.24 a litre

Yeah, . . . a dammed disgrace, . . we live 5 miles from the biggest refinery in the country too, . . we have our own resources and we pay more than everyone else, . . . . in America they pay £1.50 a gallon, . . who are the mugs on this planet, . . . . us, the Brits.

The government are very clever pricing it it litres too, . . . it doesn't look as bad as if it was priced in gallons, . . a gallon costs £5.59 . . . when I started driving super grade petrol was 25 pence a gallon.

Re: £1.24 a litre

Last time I filled up it was 117.9 at Morrisons. OH and I now share my car to save on money. I don't know what he will do when I go away in the caravan though.

How much tax do we pay on our petrol? What would we pay without the tax?

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad, . . . oil is priced in dollars so how come the yanks are paying just 33.3 pence a litre ?

About 80 pence a litre, . . . . in Brit terms that's £3.60 a gallon in duty, . . . . jut rolls of the tongue don't it.

Because there would be a riot if it went up??. Believe me some Americans are getting very cross about the cost,I know as I have been on a US based site for years.

I see posts about the price of gas and have to remember they are talking about petrol and not what I cook on

How is that ? . . . is this another stealth tax on Scots ? . . . . has the witch Maggie emerged from her mausoleum ? . . . . . has the volcanic ash jammed the price dials on the pumps ? . . .

Have you got a Sainsbury's in your area Nero? If you have, it might be worth checking their fuel prices
