Just a note to say I tried them earlier and while they're not as hard as fresh ones, they do have that lovely taste! Quite a lot in the bag too - will just have to see how long they last once defrosted now...

Azz, you could separate them in to small ziplock backs , a serving to a bag .... and then just thaw as needed instead of the whole bag.

Yeah that's my plan... depending on how long this bag lasts. If it lasts a week I should be ok to defrost a bag a week, otherwise will do as you say and just enough for the day. My only problem is I'll forget some days like I have done with things like chicken breasts
