Re: More colourful world of today

As I travel I am constantly aware of photo opportunities around me. I might be at a sailboarding competition yest I always scan my surroundings for flowers, trees or anything that screams "Kodak Moment". Such a happening presented itself today on a ride to Camp 18, a converted logging came that is now a restaurant and tourist attraction. At the entrance to the facility there is a fantastic rose bush that just happened to be in full bloom. The sky was overcast which works fine for flower photography. I didn't bother changing lenses to my 60mm macro but instead put the 18-55mm kit zoom in macro mode and got really close for this shot. I love the color and texture of the shot.

Lovely photo - love the colours and you are right - there were too many drab colours many years ago - and I wear lots of black!!
