Anyone ever try hypnosis?

Not that I'm looking to try it... just curious if anyone ever has been hypnotized to quit smoking or for any other reason.

No always wanted to try it out though. Once went to a hypnotist show years ok and it was audience participation didn't work for me though.

I think it's a good thing if it works for you. Bit like acupuncture it doesn't work for everybody.

Oh I wouldnt like it , have to be in charge of myself if you know what i mean. I once went to a spiritualist meeting with a friend who was trying to speak to her son (very sad)she was a member of the Epilepsy group and the woman(spiritulist)said there is someone here who is blocking me and it was me not intentionally I have to say.Sorry.

The reason it was so sad was that the boy had died having a fit.

I was hypnotised in order to lose weight, but the hypnotist called it off because there were 3 personalities created by my subconscious mind. He didnt know which one to address.

Those hypnotist shows are just exactly that - shows - put on purely for entertainment. I went to a show years and part of the acts was a hypnotist. It didn't work on me either.

However, there are of course genuine hypnotists, but it is true to say that nobody can be hypnotised against their will, except in extreme cases.

I tried it once as a last resort to stop smoking but it had absolutely no effect on me I'm afraid, and a complete waste of time...
