Re: What were your favourite books as a child?

I read everything and anything but I loved Black Beauty. I remember being ill once and the cleaner giving me a load of her son's old books including Champion the Wonder Horse.
I loved horses,still do.
School stories, like the Chalet School series were other favourites. Oh and then there were Little Women, Joe's Boys, Little Men and I shouldn't forget Coral Island and What Katy Did.The list is almost endless.

I must have read King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table fifty times. I was passionately in love with Lancelot when I was about ten.

The Doctor Doolittle books! And this probably doesn't count as books, but I was a huge fan of Batman comics ...used to haunt the drugstore every month when the new issue was expected!

This might be interesting for Blyton fans
Three major one-off films about the artistic careers of British female icons Margot Fonteyn, Gracie Fields and Enid Blyton will premiere this autumn in a special season of dramas on BBC Four,
I`ll look forward to these - the trailers look good.
