Oddly enough they were playing Puttin' on the Ritz on the music system at Whole Foods Market when I was there last week! A real toe-tapper.

Now there's another coincidence, merz! I've often used that expression as I got older! Actually I remember using it on here but can't remember the post, I did a search and apparently it's somewhere in the Quaint Expressions thread, but am not going to scroll thru 51 pages to find it!

this thread is an education.............

mine was frankie lymon and the teenagers 'why do fools fall in love'. i don't know that version, but strangely had the song on a beach boys lp when i was about 14, without realising the significance.

off to check other no 1's for people i know. (i'm out with friends tonight so plan to amaze them with my new found knowledge)

I have never heard of that either?
