Oh no they aren't like Bell bottoms at all. The bottoms are just slightly wider than the knee..

Doc I think they are called 'boot leg' because they are fairly close fitting like a boot and can be worn with them .

I wear jeans got blue, red, white a pale green also black.
I thing bootleg are so you can get you boots inside the bottom.
I like smart black trousers for evenings.

I have around 8 pairs of Jeans, all straight leg or tight fit. Spending nearly all my time with Dogs and Clydesdales they are the easiest thing for me to wear and hair just falls off them. Like Gabi, I too have my good Trews for going out to Town or out to Lunch ect ect.

Back in the 70`s i used to wear keep on trucking jeans, dodgy in high winds.

PS always preferred Wrangler `s to Levi`s
