Morning

I am so loving all this nice weather,
Love the picture of the balloons Carol, some fly over us or we see them in the distance, I much prefer to be on the ground though.

Enjoy your day everyone

buenas dias all. No exciting weather news from here, just the usual hot and sunny. Lovely photo Alan. Here too last night turned out as somewhat of a party due to the arrival of unexpected, but very welcome, visitors. Lots to do today, visit to the bank, then to our little local town, book the dogs in for clipping and some shopping to do also. Have a good day all.

Re: Happy Monday Folk.

Good morning, folks and it is very early morning here. Had a very wild thunder storm last evening and rain off and on through the night. Looking very wet out my window but still too dark to see much. Might be more rain today and warning of high winds. Would like to go over to the beach and see what "beach warning" means. Have a good day..

Re: Happy Monday Folk.

Good afternoon all, cool cloudy and showery here today. My little grandson is coming home from Rome on Thursday, the family have been over there for the past six weeks, I'm looking forward to seeing him again, really missed him, hope he still knows me he's only eighteen months old.
Lovely happy picture Alan and doesn't herself look smashing.

Meg I have a 4feet long florescent light in my workshed and it's still going strong after 25 years!, one of those fat tubes housed in a heavy metal casing, weighs a ton, they sure knew how to make them to last in those days, if it ever goes I'll have to chuck the whole sheebang out as I don't suppose they make tubes like that anymore.
Take care everyone.

Hmmm - was a trifle exciting this morning and no we're not done yet - expecting another storm front from the continent this evening and overnight.

Patsy darlin' - many years ago the council had a big lorry with a hose on the top of a large tank - it was an industrial sized vacuum cleaner that used to suck out and clean all the drains of rotted leaves and all the other detritus that had been washed down the drains. The Council no longer do this, so the drains get quickly blocked particularly at Autumn when all the leaves drop. This is probably what happened yesterday - the drains were partially choked and therefore unable to cope with the vast amounts of water and ice (from the hail stones) and overflowed into the basements of the buildings nearby.
