Re: Fitted carpets or hard floors

Bit o both - carpet in lounge, stairs and bedrooms, hard floors everywhere else (because of dogs and kids).

Re: Fitted carpets or hard floors

Downstairs I have laminated flooring in the living room. My hallway is tiled, as is my kitchen. Upstairs there are carpets in my three bedrooms, but my bathroom is cork-tiled.

Re: Fitted carpets or hard floors

The flat in the retirement complex I've moved into has fitted carpet. Not what I would prefer (hardwood floors as I had in my house), but I had no choice.

Re: Fitted carpets or hard floors

Although I like the look of tongue and groove wooden flooring I don't care for laminate flooring. My preference is a cosy looking fitted carpet in hallway lounge and bedrooms especially in our climate.Tiled floors in kitchen and bathroom for easy cleaning.

Like most we have a mixture, tiled floors in utility areas for ease of cleaning and carpets in living areas for warmth and comfort. No laminates though, much too noisy......

I like the tiles and wooden floors, as I have asthma I think it is much better for me.

Re: Fitted carpets or hard floors

I'd prefer hardwood and oriental rugs but have cheap Berber carpet for the time being. I don't mind waiting til his teens move out as they're careless with food and drink (and nail polish) and the Berber is looking rather worse for wear.

Re: Fitted carpets or hard floors

We have fitted carpets and rugs and tiles in the bathroom and kitchen. You would die of the cold here without carpets.
