What about a diet that works.

Hello there,
Never get put off by the word diet, we are all on a diet from he moment we are born. A diet is just a list of the things you choose to eat and drink.
Never starve yourself or you will do what my mum did and keep getting heavier each year. She could never stick to her silly fad diets so when she gave up the weight just pilled on.
What you have to do is just eat different things.
The two main things which make you put on weight are fats and sugars often refered to as carbohydrates. If you eat them together you will put on weight at the fastest rate possible. 3500 calories per pound of body fat. That is why cakes, pastries, pasties, and fast foods like pizza are the worst things you can eat, they contain fats and carbohydrate.
Here is a diet that works, I wish I could give you a copy, it would make life much easier. There is no copyright on this diet because I dreamt it up myself. It is now in the hands of my consultant and two GP's who are very interested how I have managed to loose nearly eight stone on this diet.
Here we go then,

lean beef, chicken, scrambled egg, white fish.

porridge with milled linseed, brown, rice, potatoes.

walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds.

kale, spinach, green beans, tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, celery, swede, turnip, olives.

ripe bananas, grapes, kiwi fruit, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries.

a little olive oil and probiotic yogurt.

drink plenty of water and take a little exercise not too much or you will feel really tired and want to go back to your old ways.
Avoid tea and coffee if you can as they do something strange to your metabalism.

The side effect with this diet is that you will have more energy, you won't get so tired and you may experience an increase in brain activity like me. You will have to put up with this.
You might want to run it by your GP first.
good luck

Too much sugar in that diet for me, I am low carb and no sugar if possible. Odd treat here and there these days and have lost 5 stones so far. Do as much walking as I can helps too.

But I think diets are very individual what works for one person may not work for another. I wouldn't say my way is best for everyone.

FIVE STONES! That's absolutely brilliant. Well done Julie

Yes, you have to find an eating plan that's best for you.

You need sugar to make your body work, we run on glucose, the secret is eating carbohydrates which release sugar slowly, if there was too much sugar in this diet my blood sugar would rocket, I am a type two diabetic, two much sugar will kill me, I check my blood sugar three times a day and with this diet I no longer require insulin, how many people do you know who have come of insulin, my pharmacist says I am the only one he knows. He wants a copy of this diet as well.

I'm currently on two diets; well you don't get enough to eat with just one.

Re: What about a diet that works.

It is because we don't know the difference between good and bad carbohydrates and we don't know how our bodies work that we put on weight and find it so difficult to loose it.
People who sell diet books get very rich on our ignorance.

Re: What about a diet that works.

I restrict my intake of alcohol and crisps to 7 nights per week, that way my weight stays steady at 13 stones and a bit.
