Hidey hole for Nuts lol

Squirrels have hoarded thousands of acorns in this antenna..how long do they think hibernation is going to last!!!?

They never seem to remember where they've stashed their nuts though do they?

In the past, when I've hung up fat balls, come Spring I've found loads that have been filched and buried in my flower pots and forgotten.

Squirrels have a few nests dotted around in case of emergency.
I suspect that's why they leave food buried in numerous locations, nearer to each individual nest.

Untouched if no emergency occurs.

Makes sense.
But I wish they wouldn't nick my strawberries and leave them half nibbled and discarded on the path.

The squirrels were never going to get those out again either. The men should plug up the hole so the squirrels can't get the nuts in.
